Tom Hart
RTO has partnered with Tom Hart of Targeted Solutions, an expert and highly esteemed consultant in the Convenience Store industry, to assist in the development of an all-inclusive convenience store training program. Targeted Solutions is an experienced, top-to-bottom consulting company dedicated to providing a wide range of management services to the convenience petroleum industry. They specialize in developing innovative, yet practical solutions, in high-return areas of opportunity. Founder and CEO Tom Hart started his career as a stock clerk in Buffalo, New York, and worked his way up to serve as Chief Operating Officer of Store 24 in New England. Tom was also the Vice President of Sales and Marketing for Tedeschi Food Shops.
Sherwin Food Safety
Ed Sherwin, CP-FS, FMP
Ed Sherwin is recognized as one of the country's top food safety trainers. He is president and founder of Sherwin Food Safety, which provides consulting, and training to food service and lodging companies throughout the United States, Canada, and the Caribbean. Sherwin was Chair and Professor of Hospitality Management at Essex Community College from 1976-1994. He holds numerous awards for teaching excellence, including the 1987 Maryland Teacher of the Year, and the 1989 National Teaching Excellence Award. Sherwin served as President and Chairman of the Board of the Council on Hotel, Restaurant, and Institutional Education (CHRIE) from 1991-1993. He was founding Executive Director of the Maryland Hospitality Education Foundation, and is an Accredited Certification Instructor with the American Hotel & Lodging Association. RTO has partnered with Sherwin Food Safety to assist in the development of both Food Allergen and Food Safety training, Sherwin’s knowledge and expertise as an educator in food safety will improve the already top rate programs that RTO offers their client base.
Petroleum Training Solutions
Ben Thomas | Marcel Moreau | Steve Purpora
Ben Thomas and Marcel Moreau began their careers in environmental services as regulators. Marcel worked for Department of Environmental Protection in the State of Maine from 1983 to 1986. While there, he was instrumental in the development of Maine’s underground storage system regulatory program including the establishment of the first certification program for underground storage tank (UST) installers in the country. Both Ben and Marcel are familiar with the internal workings of regulatory agencies and the issues associated with implementing major UST programs. In addition, Ben and Marcel have continued to work closely with state programs in providing UST inspector and UST operator training programs across the country. Steve Purpora's experience includes over 25 years of field testing and consulting for the petroleum testing industry. He was instrumental in the development of testing procedures and protocol for product line testing equipment as well as the Petro-Tite tank test equipment. RTO offers numerous compliance training courses related to the convenience petroleum industry, one of which is Class C UST Operator training. RTO partnered with Petroleum Training Solutions to assist in the development and state regulations associated with Class C UST Operator training, now available in our Learning Library. Training for all Class C UST Operators will become mandatory on August 8, 2012.
